Help LOCAL families in Stephenville! Taking up donations for Christmas!

Amber's Angels is a local organization devoted to help families around Stephenville have a nice Christmas. These are hard working families who are just down on their luck this holiday season. This year, four families have been adopted by Amber. As couponers, we are more than able to help donate a few of the items requested. Please have a heart this holiday season by picking a few things you can spare and donate to this great local cause! I'll take up donations at my home and will pass the donations from our Stephenville Couponing group to Amber. Email me here and I will give you an address to drop the donations off at.

Family #1

Older couple with no children, but need FOOD and HOUSEHOLD GOODS such as TP, shampoos, soaps, dish washing detergent, clothes detergent, papers goods (plates, utensils, etc).

Family #2 ~ Mom with 3 kids:

5 year old boy. Needs size 4t and 4t slim in pants. Loves Sonic the Hedgehog.
18 month old boy. Needs 18 month to 2t clothes.
6 month old girl. Needs 12 month clothes.
Mom can use x-large scrub tops.
Of course, toys for any are appreciated. I'm sure diapers, socks, etc. And the food and household goods.

(My thoughts on the clothes are this: I won't give used clothes as an actual gift, but will provide them to the families as a donation. As long as the clothes are clean and in good condition, I would think these families would be grateful to have them!)

Family #3 ~ Mom, dad, and 3 girls.

8 year old. Size 10 clothes.
6 year old. Size 8 clothes.
9 weeks old. 0-6 month clothes.
They like movies, toys such as dress up, crafts, play dough, etc. Again, I'm sure mom and dad could use diapers, socks, undies, etc.
Food and household goods. Remember, I would love to be able to provide an actual cooked meal for Christmas Eve for ALL families!

Family #4 ~ Mom, single parent with 3 kids.

Girl 11. Size 19 (2x) in juniors, and 14/16 in pants
Girl 9. Size 19 (2x) in juniors, and 14/16 in pants
Boy 5. Size 6 pants, 8/10 in shirts. He likes action figures, toy guns, cars.
I don't have any more information on the things the girls like.
The family could use household goods. And, again, the Christmas meal!

Basic Necessities Roundup for Week of 11/10

In a quest to help you be able to check this page each week if you need the best deal possible for basic household necessities, I'm going to post a Basic Necessities Roundup for you. These are items that are hard to stock up on, or are perishable.  It is derived from the research of five fellow couponers here in North Texas that have devoted their time to help everyone find the best possible deal on the items in our weekly list. Before going to the store each week, simply check this list and see how you can get these items at the best deal. If you don't want to run around town to grab each deal you need, simply price match the sale price at Walmart, if possible.

Much thanks and appreciation goes out to Donna, Patricia, and Rachel for helping make this list possible!

Kroger ~ Stock Up Price on Campbell's Condensed Soup!

This is quite possibly the lowest price of the year on Campbell's Cream of Mushroom and Cream of Chicken Soup! $0.50 each is a fantastic price and if you have the $0.40/2 coupon, you can pay as low as $0.30 each! They are regularly $1.35 to $1.25 each! Here's how:

• Buy (2) Campbell's Cream of Chicken or Cream of Mushroom soup @ $0.50 each = $1.00
• Use (1) $0.40/2 Campbell's Condensed Soup coupon that came out in a previous insert (sorry, I couldn't find the correct insert date) = ($0.40)
• Pay $0.60 for every two you buy or $0.30 each!

You can price match this at Walmart. You will need to purchase 10 cans in order to price match since this deal from Kroger is a buy 10, save $5.00 deal. Or, you can purchase in quantities of 10, of the other items in this sale. Check out this post to see what else you can score for a great deal!

Freebies ~ How to get FREE product coupons!

This is a sampling of free product coupons I have gotten in the past. Crayola sent me a coloring book, coloring page and colors along with a coupon! Read on to see how you can get these....

I have emailed companies and have told them how much I like their products in order to try to get free product coupons from them. You don't want to come out and ask for the free product coupons, yet you need to nicely tell them how wonderful their products are and maybe tell them that you wish to see more coupons for their products in the inserts. I've got many free product coupons but, it does take time to do. You will need to go to each company website and look for the contact link then email them through that link. Be sure to include your name, address, and email address so they don't have to contact you back in order to send you something. Not all companies will reply, not all will send coupons, but some will. It's fun to get the surprise envelope in the mail, though! And even more fun to redeem them for free stuff!

Several months after I emailed King's Hawaiian and after I initially got a free product coupon from them, shown above, they sent me more goodies! ::
